Statement

The Eternal Garden Collection draws inspiration from the transformative power of the garden’s embrace. Birds come and go, colors and patterns echo through the leaves, flowers bloom, and plants wither and return to the earth, nurturing the soil for new life to emerge. Amidst this eternal rhythm, the human spirit finds its balance. The being is simultaneously grounded and set free, perhaps because, in one instance, it feels both irrefutably alive and part of something bigger than life itself.

These works are a response to the immersive elements of the garden, embodying personal observations and moments of introspection. The birds symbolize peace, while their origami aesthetic is suggestive of nature’s meditative and transformative qualities. The paintings are an ode to mantric energy; their repetition brings about the magic in the present moment. The bronze ballerina, dancing in its field of green marble, speaks of the human spirit’s rejuvenation. The resin flowers respond to the duality between the ephemeral and the eternal inherent in nature. Although at first glance they represent the transitory life, their seemingly petrified state reveals a paradoxical attempt to seize their fleeting existence. Yet it is in seeking to become something that will outlive the human spirit that they welcome their own potential to age, mature, and perhaps even cease to exist. In this way, the artistic process confirms, once again, that the eternal cycle of life and death is inescapable.
